Assistance Dogs of the West (ADW) is a nonprofit organization which uses educational and vocational programs to provide trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities in order to increase self-reliance and independence. This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for Assistance Dogs of the West (ADW). By visiting our site, you are accepting the practices described in this privacy notice.
The many purposes of this web site include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide information to the general public about Assistance Dogs of the West;
- Provide information to those who might have need of our services;
- Assist those who wish to apply for an ADW assistance dog;
- Solicit contributions to support ADW programs.

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
Assistance Dogs of the West collects personally identifiable information only when you voluntarily provide it to us on our site, such as when you sign up to receive emails, make purchases or donations, or complete applications. Assistance Dogs of the West will use your information for the purpose for which you give it to us (e.g., to complete an online purchase, donation, client or volunteer application). *Clients who receive a dog from Assistance Dogs of the West will receive a yearly client survey and occasional check-ins from ADW staff. Clients may not opt-out of these communications.
Security
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
Whenever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.
ADW strives to keep your information secure and safeguard it from unauthorized access by using virus/intrusion detection software.
