u.s. veterans
ADW has a number of potential services for US Veterans. We give service dogs free of cost to our Veteran clients who need them to help improve lives. Interested Veterans should contact ADW and initiate the client application process. We also will soon work with US Veterans as trainers in assistance dog training classes, to build skills, relationships and ease of reintegration into community.

Project Known Quantity
Assistance Dogs of the West and artist Isabella Gonzales of Galisteo, New Mexico, have found a way to touch the lives of US veterans and at the same time honor our fellow Americans who have given their lives in service to our country. The Project Known Quantity goal is to raise money to provide service dogs to US veterans at no cost. Known Quantity is a piece of art with an inspirational message, made of clusters of ceramic thumb prints. Each thumb print celebrates a very special life, representing a unique and individual soldier who died in service to our country in the Iraq war. The cost for each cluster of 50 thumbprints is $300.00.
We are reaching out to potential supporters: students of all ages, churches and community service groups to sponsor clusters or contribute in anyway to this effort. All the tax-deductible donations raised will go into a fund to provide service dogs to Veterans whose lives physically, emotionally or psychologically will be improved by the support and love of a service dog. Each dog costs between $15,000 and $20,000 to raise and train over a two year period, and service dog organizations across the country are preparing them for their future service.
Please join Project Known Quantity efforts by donating $300.00 to sponsor a cluster or any amount for the cause. Let us know how you raised your funds so we can add your story to our website and press materials. Pictures of your fund raising team are greatly appreciated too. Make your support to our veteran heroes a known quantity.
