Careers at ADW
Assistance Dogs of the West is a small but growing organization. Currently we are staffed with an Executive Director, an Administrative Director, a Program Director/Instructor and one other full time Instructor/Trainer. ADW also contracts professional instructors to assist with program needs as they arise. Student Trainers from educational programs have the opportunity to become Student Teaching Assistants during after school and summer programs.
With the increasing demand for ADW educational programs throughout the state of New Mexico, ADW will be looking for additional Intructor/Trainer support. Please see the Instructor/Trainer job description in Job Listings.

Assistance Dogs of the West, a Santa Fe nonprofit, seeks high energy team players with strong teaching/training focus for both Santa Fe and Albuquerque area programs. The Trainer/Instructor position(s) are full or part time with duties to include: working with students from middle school, high school, detention centers and youth and adults with developmental disabilities implementing dog training curriculum, training and caring for assistance dogs in progress, working with clients with disabilities matching assistance dogs to new owners and providing technical assistance through the lives of those relationships.
Successful applicants should have a minimum of three years experience in teaching, occupational/physical therapy, and/or dog training.
Applicants must demonstrate outstanding communication, relationship building, multi-tasking skills and self-assurance.
Salary range $20-25K.
